Friends’ Annual Events

Winter/Spring
  • Great Decisions – Great Decisions is America’s largest discussion program on world affairs. The program model involves reading the Great Decisions Briefing Book, watching the video series and meeting in a Discussion Group to discuss the most critical global issues facing America today. Each sessions, a volunteer leads the discussion, and group members are encouraged to participate to whatever degree they feel comfortable. Great Decisions Briefing Books will be available to purchase at the Information Desk in early January. To learn more about Great Decisions, please click here.
    • The morning group begins in January and will meet on Tuesday mornings from 10am – 11:30am. Please contact Greg Golinski at 860-658-0537 or Gregory_golinski@yahoo.com with questions specific to the morning group or to join.
    • The evening group begins in March and will meet on Monday evenings from 6:30pm – 8:00pm. Please contact Charlie Dahlberg at 860-658-2577 or cwdahlberg@hotmail.com with questions specific to the evening group or to join.
April
  • Night of 1000 Stars – This hometown event features local notables who each read aloud a passage from a favorite work, ranging from fiction and poetry to speeches and children’s books.
