Directions to the Library

The Simsbury Public Library is located on Routes 10/202. It is the third building on the LEFT northward past the intersection of Route 167.

Via I-91: Take Exit 35B, Bissell Bridge to Route218. Turn onto West Wolcott Avenue (a RIGHT turn from I-91 South, a LEFT turn from I-91 North). Follow West Wolcott Avenue to the intersection of Route 185, and turn RIGHT onto Route 185. Follow Route 185 to the intersection of Routes 10/202, and turn RIGHT onto intersection of Routes 10/202, and turn RIGHT onto Routes 10/202.

Via I-84: Take Exit 39, Route 4, Farmington. Follow Route 4 to the intersection of Routes 10/202 (Waterville Road), and turn RIGHT onto Routes 10/202 North. At the intersection of Route 44, turn LEFT onto Route 44 West. Continue a short distance, and turn RIGHT onto Routes 10/202 North (Hopmeadow Street).

Library Policies

  • 3-week loans: Books, Compact discs, Audiocassettes, Puzzles, Non-Fiction Videos

  • 1-week loans: PRONTO books, Fiction Videocassettes, Magazines, CD-ROMs, Compact Disc Player, Slide Projector, Polaroid Camera, Humor Kits

  • 3-day loans: New Fiction Videocassettes (no renewals), Camcorder, DVDs (no renewals)

  • 1-day loan: 16 mm projector ($5.00 fee required at time of checkout).

Borrowers of library equipment must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid Library card.

Overdue Fees

General library materials $.15 per day
Videocassettes/CD-ROMs, PRONTO books, DVDs $1.00 per day
Compact disc players/Video Players $10.00 per day
Camcorder $50.00 per day
Patron borrowing privileges are suspended when there are unpaid lost items or unpaid fines accumulate to $5.00 or more. Lost library card replacement fee is $1.00.

TGIF FRIDAYS!!!

coffee pot TGIF at the library are held by the fireplace, upper level, every Friday from 10:00 -2:00 PM. Library users can examine the new materials the Library has received during the week and treat themselves to "staff picks" - recommended reading by staff members and meet other people who may share their reading interests. Coffee is provided as a service of the Friends of the Simsbury Public Library, an organization dedicated to the enhancement of Library Services. Special thanks to the Friends of the Simsbury Library for the refreshments. Everyone is welcome.
