Homebound Services

   Can’t Get Out?

If you are unable to come to the Library, the Library can come to you. The Friends of the Simsbury Public Library are pleased to offer a Homebound Program to all Simsbury residents, at no charge. You can use the program whether you are homebound long-term, or just temporarily due to illness, disability or advanced age.

How Does It Work?

Books (including large print), books on tape, magazines, DVDs and CDs can be delivered to your door. Your selected materials will be delivered to your home on Thursdays, and we’ll also pick up any that you have completed. You can keep most of your materials for as long as three weeks.

How Do I Sign Up?

Just call the Library at 658-7663 on Thursdays from 10:00-11:00 a.m. and indicate that you would like to participate in the Homebound Program. One of our experienced volunteers will take your call and get you started.  You need to provide them with your name, address, phone number and library card number. If your card is lost, expired or if you never had one they can arrange to have a new one made for you. Then you’ll share with the volunteer what your interests are (types of books, preferred authors, etc).
