Simsbury Public Library forming English Conversation Group  

The Simsbury Public Library is starting an English Conversation Group for adults (18+) wishing to improve their spoken English. Classes will be held Tuesday mornings beginning January 31 from 10:30 to 11:15 in the Friends Café on the upper level of the Library. The class welcomes people who are just beginning to learn English or who have limited skills in speaking English. Marty Allison, English teacher and public relations professional, will lead the informal classes. THE TWO OF US - Famous Duets, Classic Favorites, and Originals

The Two of Us, duo Willie Nininger and Jan Scruggs, perform famous duets that will bring back fond memories, their voices blending in perfect harmony. Willie is an entertaining and versatile Singer-Songwriter-Guitarist, well known for his extensive repertoire, spontaneous sense of humor and flat-picking guitar technique. He has played in clubs and concerts in the U.S. and Europe , has written songs for and appeared on TV variety shows, and performs the National Anthem for the NY Mets annually. Jan Scruggs plays the guitar and performs with Willie and his band up and down the East coast and in England


     Universal Class offers over 500 online continuing education courses for all ages. To sign up for classes you’ll need to have a valid Simsbury Public Library card, access the service through the Simsbury Library’s website (www.simsburylibrary.info ), have a valid e-mail address and set up an account (free). 

    You are welcome to enroll in up to 5 courses and you’ll have up to 6 months to finish each course. Once you’ve set up your account and signed up for a class, you’ll have access to your course 24/7 via the Internet.
