EDGAR ALLAN POE STORIES

If you like suspense, then you’ll love this storytelling program of Edgar Allan Poe classics at the Library. On Friday, October 14 at 8:00 p.m., Storyteller, Carol Mon, will bring the classic Poe chiller "The Tell-tale Heart" alive. This is a performance, definitely more chilling than reading the story. Also included in the 45-minute program is: "The Pit and the Pendulum", a story of hope and survival and "The Black Cat" a gruesome tale of the horrors of alcoholism and insanity. The program is PG-rated, great for teens and adults, but not for little kids. Refreshments will be served. Register for this free program by calling the Simsbury Public Library at (860) 658-7663 or signing up on-line at the Library
Calendar.

Teen Survivor Night Returns to Simsbury Public Library

Simsbury Public Library will bring back its very popular program for 7th and 8th graders – Survivor Night at the Library – on Thursday, October 27 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. By doing a fun scavenger hunt the students will learn how to find their way through the jungle of collections, databases and other information in the Library. They’ll compete for prizes and show that they are Library Survivors!

The Program will begin at 7:00 PM with a short "briefing" and refreshments in the Program Room on the lower level of the Simsbury Public Library at 725
Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury.

Participants won’t win a million dollars – but they will learn skills to help with homework and library research. To reserve a spot on one of the Survivor
Teams, please phone the Reference Desk at (860) 658-7663. The program is free and open to all 7th and 8th grade students.

Sorry parents, this one is for students only.
