Young Adult  

The Young Adult section of the Simsbury Public Library is devoted to bringing good books and other media, programs and information to patrons aged 12 and older. The collection is grouped into Classics for all ages; Young Adult fiction, with a special section for Young Adult series books; audiocassettes of popular Young Adult books and selected board games.

     Throughout the year the Library conducts programs, specifically geared for teens. They are:

 

• Summer Reading Program - Read all summer to win prizes from local merchants.

• Teen October, October 1-31 - A month-long Teen Reading Program with prizes from local merchants. Read books and magazines. Weekly contests too!

• Mother/Daughter Book Group for 5^th & 6^th Graders which meets October - April.

• Mother/Daughter Book Group for 7^th & 8^th Graders which meets October - April.

• Survivor Night.  7^th & 8^th graders are invited to find their way through the jungle of collections, databases and other information in the Library. Prizes are awarded to survivors. (Sorry, prizes are not a million dollars!
